As stated in the product information, this is designed for weighing out small quantities. I find it an extremely useful adjunct to my larger kitchen scales which are not so accurate with small quantities.

I have owned this model for many years and it has been fine for measuring out portions of rice/pasta/cereals etc.
If you want a bigger scale get one but I have found this to be both handy and good value.

I was so shocked when I received this!I had bought 3 for a children's nursery to weigh out ingredients. No good for general cooking but ok if you want to measure out enough ingredients for one cookie.
