Very neat and easy to keep clean. The clock is useful but the timer a little awkward to access.

This type of scales are excelent in a small kitchen.
They fold away and take up very little space.
This particular scale is very accurate.
A must for the non technicly minded.

For the money i didn't expect great things, so when they came and put up on the wall,I thought that they were great value for money and especially as it measures in 1g quantities what a great bargain.

Salter 1601Svdr 3Kg 6Lb 9Oz Capacity Electronic Kitchen Wall Scale With Clock & Timer
This is (almost) the perfect kitchen gadget. It's in use all the time in our house but takes up no worktop space and isn't always buried in the back of a cupboard with all the other toys that the TV ads persuaded us to buy `cos they were going to "change our world". My wife cooks from recipes - to the gram - so woe betide any stray atom of flour or particle of butter trying to get in on the act! This little machine gives her all the accuracy and ease of use she needs to turn out delicious food (well, most of the time).
Setting it up out of the box and using it couldn't be easier. Just screw the baseplate to a handy spot on the kitchen wall over a worktop space and drop the scale on it. (It comes off for cleaning or to renew the two AAA batteries around once a year). The first time setup instructions are crystal clear and within a couple of minutes it's ready to use. When not in use the glass worktop folds up flat to the wall and the display shows a remarkably accurate 12 hour clock to time your eggies by or to get off to work in time to beat the boss to the coffee machine.
In use it couldn't be simpler. Just fold down the glass worktop, hit a button to turn on the weighing machine - it even says "HELLO" - then hit another button to change the readout between Kilos & Grams or Pounds & Ounces (Yayy! Up yours, Brussels!) and you're ready to go.
I've only got two criticisms for Salter: 1. The silver paint on the casing rubs off with cleaning over time and, 2. The weighing platform does not appear to have a `STOP' on it which meant that, when she-who-must-be-obeyed tried using a thumpingly thick, large Pyrex bowl as her weighing container, the machine's strain gauge really got strained. The weight checking of the supermarket's 3K+ frozen poultry didn't do it any favours either. That's what caused our last one to die but I was so impressed by its practical ease of use that I bought the same model as a replacement.
I'd recommend it to anyone - just do some operator training before you let `em loose with it!
