1 out of 5 stars Hopeless: but digital scales are marvellous   April 20, 2008

I had the same problems as the other two reveiwers. Very tempremental. I think there is probably a design fault in the battery unit. A shame, as they were easy to store and easy to use. But I still prefer digital scales to traditional............

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing!   November 22, 2007

Had these for about six months when they got a bit of water on them and ceased to work. Bought a new set of batteries which cost £5 - and they still don't work! £25 for less than a year's use seems far too much to me. Will try spring-loaded or weighted scales next time.

I don't know if I had a faulty unit or not, but mine went through battery like it's going out of fashion. A fresh set of battery will be dead in a week if left inside the unit. The scale itself was ok, did its job, nothing to get excited about.

About the construction: the silver body is paint and not metal and is plasticky; not a problem for me, but you may want to know before you buy.

Anyway, as I said I may have had a faulty unit, but I never got round to returning it Amazon, too lazy, and didn't fancy paying the return postage and risk being told the unit is fine and I should go away...
