I found the scales simple to use, a modern design and of quality construction. Often the simplest designs are the best in my opinion, and am very pleased with this electronic kitchen scale which I'm using to weigh parcels.

I got this because I thought the removable silicone platform was a good idea. However, unless you're an even messier cook than I am, you won't need to use this feature much (and it's easier to wipe down metal platforms anyway). The big problem though is that the on button isn't sensitive and it can therefore take a while to get going. It not infrequently refuses to work when there's a bowl sitting on it (particularly the heavy ones) at start-up, so you have to go through the palaver of turning it on, adding the bowl and and finally zeroing it. It is also difficult to turn off manually; you have to hold your finger on the button for just the right amount of time: less, and nothing will happen; more, and it will turn itself back on again. It's easy enough to switch between lbs and kilos with a button on the front, and the auto turnoff feature (while hardly unusual) is a good idea. But even half RRP is not cheap enough. The pink begins to grate after a rather short while and the cheery start-up HELO (for HELLO) message is annoying. Save your money!
