Product Description Classic chrome mechanical scale with extra high 22-lb. capacity. Features a large flat chrome weighing tray and large digital dial for easy reading.
Amazon.com Review Renowned English scale makers Salter continue their long tradition of providing chefs with user friendly instruments, with this high-capacity mechanical kitchen scale. Sturdy enough to handle a hearty Thanksgiving turkey, the scale also provides precise measurements for smaller articles. A sleek tray with chrome coating supports food during measurement with subtle edges that prevent more mobile contents like apples or peas from rolling away. The scale also benefits from steel mechanics and a gently upturned dial face for easy visual accessibility. The 4-1/4-inch diameter dial measures ingredients in both metric and imperial quantities with a capacity of up to 10 kilograms and 22 pounds respectively. Measurements are broken into increments of 50 grams or 2 ounces for greater accuracy. Hand wash the scale with a gentle cleanser for best results. Salter offers a five-year warranty for this product. The content tray measures 9-3/4 by 6-3/4 inches while the base measures 5-1/4 by 6-1/4 inches. The entire scale stands 6-3/4 inches high. --Jessica Reuling

Does the job September 6, 2008 Very neat, trim and compact. The indicator does not hedge or waver. I am satisfied.
Scale August 22, 2008 I needed a little bigger than usual kitchen scale. This one was inexpensive and works well for my canning needs. It's not terribly sturdy looking, but it is accurate (I compared weight with another, better scale) and it does the job. It is sturdier than it looks. I'd recommend it for anyone who needs a biggish but not huge scale in the kitchen.
Scales good for my purposes August 5, 2008 The scale is easy to use and seems to be accurate to one ounce. I tested it against several weighed items I had bought at the grocery store and the weights matched exactly. I usually use it for cooking but did use it once to see if a relatively heavy letter was more than one ounce. The scale said it was exactly one ounce and turned out to be right. It is attractive enough to sit on the counter. The weighing tray just lifts off and is easy to wash. I recommend it if you want a simple scale and don't need accuracy to less than one ounce.
How Disappointing August 2, 2008 Searching for a nice mechanical kitchen scale, I ordered this one based on all the good reviews. I can only imagine that the reviews and the product were mixed up because this was a cheap, and cheap-looking, piece of junk. I could not even get the scale to set to zero properly. Don't waste your time with this one.
guess amazon thinks chrome = cheap plastic July 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this scale is made out of cheap plastic, not chrome. it's also not accurate at all, nevermind legal for trade or any kind of business.
