Quality and Style March 28, 2008 This scale is accurate, well made, and stylish. It is working great after 1 year.
Accurate, Excellent for WeightWatchers January 29, 2008 Excellent scale. My wife and I use it for daily use, and it weighs in real close to our Weight Watchers Meetings scales - typically .1lb. We use it on carpet, and it measures the same as on hard surface. With carpet, it take a little bit longer to settle on weight, but still has same result.
Some people don't care for the turn-on for the digital scales, bumping with your foot. We do not find that it bothers us.
Good-looking and honest January 19, 2008 We've been using this scale for many months without complaint. Not being hardcore fitness buffs, we weren't interested in something that calculates body fat, hydration, life expectancy, or whatever the fancy scales do for you these days. My requirements were digital and attractive, and that's it.
Attractive, without being too much like modern art, I should say. The blue-green tinted glass matches our custom shower door perfectly.
As S. Duncan mentions, turning the scale on is fairly simple if you just lift it up a tad and let it drop. When you see "00," get on. I don't find it as challenging as some others.
Seems very accurate, although I have nothing to compare it to. This is our only scale and I don't go to doctors often enough to know what their scales say.
Salter 926 Scale review June 21, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Have been using our scale for about six months now and after reading several reviews on this unit the following is my take. I have since tested a handful of electronic scales and all of them require tapping to activate. What I don't think folks realize is that the unit auto-calibrates for accuracy each time you use it. Tapping it turns it on and calibrates prior to standing on it. I have found that the unit repeats to the 1/10 of a pound continually--very accurate. Yes the unit requires a hard tap that some might consider annoying, but I have learned how to give it that quick tap to activate it. Additionally, my wife has never complained. I rate the unit a five star (not because of Amazon's poor shipping on this unit over two months, can't complain because of the discounted price I got it for at the time) but because of the quality of the unit. It is attractive and my size 13-1/2 feet fit well on the unit.
Modern, but lacks Auto-Activation June 18, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The scale is very modern and the tempered glass is top quality. However, it is hard to activate the unit. You must tap FIRMLY on the glass to get it to turn on. Most electronic scale, all you have to do is stand on it and it would be self activating. Because of this activating issue, it can be very annoying when you are in a hurry. If it's looks, go for it. If it's for function, there are better one out there.
